Lisa Oppenheim
Multicultural Crayon Displacements. Apricot I (2008). Unique Cibachrome. 16 x 20 inches. In the early 90's, the Crayola company brought out a set of ‘multicultural crayons’ to replace the ‘flesh' crayon that had long been discontinued. I have photographed color-aid paper matching the multicultural crayon colors separately through red, green and blue filters. I then exposed the red, green and blue slides of each color onto the paper, randomly positioning each slide enlargement on the paper.
