Artist Statement
Curating is integral to my practice, not only as founder and facilitator of the artist-run space 179 Canal but also as medium in my own installations. Though there is a great degree of fastidiousness in making the facsimiles that often appear in my work, I view all artworks as readymades to be considered for arrangement and rearrangement. In collaborating with my peers and incorporating their work, I hope to move past straight curation, appropriation, and institutional critique and closer to common authoring in contextualizing the work at hand.
